The Constitution has made the following provisions to govern the country properly.
1. The Constitution has made India a parliamentary democracy.
2. The government must have majority support in the Lok Sabha. Hence, it is accountable to the Lok Sabha.
3. The Constitution has empowered the Supreme Court to ensure that the actions of the government does not violate the Constitution.
4. The Constitution has guaranteed fundamental rights to every citizen. Hence, the government cannot become dictatorial.
5. The Constitution requires that a government must call for new elections every five years. Hence, it must seek the mandate of the people every five years.
