Question

What role do the ear ossicles play in hearing?

Open in App
Solution

There are three ear ossicles that are present in the middle part of the ear. These ear ossicles are malleus, incus and stapes. The ossicles increase the intensity of the sound vibrations and transmit them to the oval window.
The sound waves then passes through the oval window to the cochlea, where the waves are generated in the lymph present in the cochlea.
