Our health policy has a three-tier structure comprising the primary, secondary and tertiary health care facilities to bring health care services within the reach of the people.

Community health centre plays an important role in providing regular in-patient and out-patient health care services, implementation of family welfare programme and national health programmes, prevention and control of endemic diseases, basic sanitation, immunisation, etc. Community health centres (CHCs) have long served an important safety-net healthcare delivery role for vulnerable populations. Community health centres are a key component of our health care system, providing essential access to comprehensive primary care in under served communities.
