Supreme Court is the highest court of Indian judicial system. It has a wide range of powers including the power to interpret the Constitution of India.

Article 32 has conferred upon the Supreme Court vast original jurisdiction relating to the interpretation of Constitution. Since there can be different meaning of the text written but the ultimate interpretation of the text lay in the hands of supreme court itself. Any substantial questions of law and ambiguity arising regarding the language of the text, the decision of Supreme Court is considered full and final. No appeal can be made against the decision so taken.

This way the original jurisdiction of Supreme Court has a vast scope, more than any Supreme Court round the world.
