Let the number to be added be $x$.

Hence$7+x=-\frac{4}{5}$

$\therefore$ $x=-\frac{4}{5}-7$

= $-\frac{4}{5}$ $-\frac{7\times 5}{1\times 5}$

= $\frac{-4-35}{5}$

= $-\frac{39}{5}$
