1. Focal length of a lens/mirror is the radius of the sphere of which the lens/mirror is part of.

2. Thus, while drawing ray diagrams, we take focal length as the distance between the point at which compass tip is kept and optical centre.

3. For a set of diagrams, focal length should be kept same.
