Following are the steps taken by the Indian Government to control population:
(a) Marriage age: The Indian Government has raised the minimum age requirement for marriage for all residents. The legal marriage age of females is 18 years and that of males is 21 years.
(b) Family planning: The Indian Government is constantly making efforts to reduce the birth rate by voluntarily family planning. With this effort, India's birth rate has slightly reduced in the last few years.
(c) Education: The Indian Government has introduced a chapter on reproductive health in the elementary classes. It educates the students on overpopulation and its effects.
