Solution
Ovulation:
The process of releasing a mature egg from the ovary is known as Ovulation. This is one of the important stages in a female's Menstrual cycle.
Ovulation usually occurs about the 14th day of the menstrual cycle.
Once the egg is released from the ovary it reaches the fallopian tube and stays for 12 to 24 hours and that is the period where an egg is ready for fertilization.
The three hormones that are high prior to Ovulation are:
Luteinizing hormone- LH: This hormone helps in the ovulation process by stimulating an egg. This occurs usually 16 to 32 hours after the surge begins
Follicle-stimulating hormone- FSH: This also helps in the ovulation process by giving a signal to the ovary.
Estrogen: This hormone is maximum prior to ovulation, it is measured at about 400 pg/ml, It starts about three days before ovulation.
