The organisms which break down or decompose complex organic matter(dead remains of living organisms) into inorganic matter.
Bacteria and fungi decompose organic matter into inorganic substances.
Decomposer food chain:
Producer:
green plants are the producers of the decomposer food chain.
Primary consumer:
small insects and decomposers are the primary consumers of green plants, which feed on the dead remains of green plants.
Secondary consumer:
small fishes consume primary consumers as food.
Tertiary consumer:
Large carnivorous fishes consume secondary consumers as food.
