Solution

Asexual Reproduction in Fungi:

  1. Most fungi reproduce through both sexual and asexual reproduction.
  2. Examples of the asexual mode of reproduction in fungi are budding, fragmentation and spore production and sexual to create a zygospore.
  3. Budding in fungi requires the maturation of a protruding structure and its separation from the mother cell.
  4. Fragmentation is breaking up the mother cell into pieces naturally, and each component grows and differentiates as new fungi.
  5. Ascospores, conidiospores, zoospores, etc., are produced by the parent fungi, which grow into new fungi under suitable conditions.

Asexual Reproduction in Algae:

  1. Most algae reproduce through normal cell division or fragmentation.
  2. But often, larger algae reproduce through spores.
  3. Rhodophyceae reproduce through monospores, while some Chlorophyceae reproduce through zoospores or aplanospores.
