  3. Due to this it only forms covalent compounds.
  4. In the trivalent state, the number of electrons around the central atom in these compounds will only be six.
  5. Hence these compounds are then regarded as electron-deficient compounds.
  6. They can accept a pair of electrons and are regarded as lewis acids.
