What type of chemical bond is found in Hydrogen chloride?

Open in App
Solution

Chemical bond

  • It may be defined as the force of attraction between the atoms that bind them together as a unit called a molecule.
  • The type of bond found in Hydrogen chloride is a Covalent bond. Atoms can combine with each other by sharing the unpaired electrons in their outermost shell. Each of the two combining atoms contributes one electron to the electron pair which is needed for the bond formation and has an equal claim on the shared electron pair. This bond is formed by sharing of electrons between non-metals.

Therefore, the type of chemical bond found in Hydrogen chloride is a Covalent bond.
