  1. An object can have mechanical energy which can be divided into two types, namely, kinetic and potential energy.
  2. If an object is in motion, then the energy associated with it is called kinetic energy.
  3. The kinetic energy of an object is given by the expression,

K=12mv2

Where, K is the kinetic energy, m is the mass of the object and v is its speed.
