Solution

Mixture: A mixture is the combination of two or more substances in any proportion. One of the important characteristic properties of a mixture is that it retains the properties of its constituents.

For example, lemonade is a mixture made up of lemon juice, water, and sugar. Lemonade retains the properties of its constituent which are sugar, lemon juice, and water.

Homogeneous mixture: Homogenous mixture is a type of mixture in which the composition remains the same throughout the solution. No suspended particles are visible in this type of mixture. The substances completely dissolve with each other.

For example, when we add salt to water we can see the composition is the same throughout the solution.

Final answer: When we add the sulphur powder to carbon disulphide(CS2) it forms a homogeneous mixture. The composition remains the same throughout the solution. Sulphur powder completely gets dissolved into the carbon disulphide. No suspended particles of sulphur are visible in this mixture.
