Solution

Respiration in muscles:
  1. During normal muscle movement, aerobic respiration occurs in the muscle as there is enough supply of oxygen to the muscle.
  2. While performing vigorous physical exercise, there is a deficiency of oxygen as it gets used up continuously.
  3. Due to low level of oxygen, anaerobic respiration occurs in the muscles.
  4. As an end product of cellular respiration, lactic acid is produced inside the muscle which gets deposited in the muscle.
  5. Lactic acid deposition leads to muscle fatigue causing pain and the muscle fails to contract further properly.
