There are several types of soil found in Dokur village. These are-
Red soil (Erra Nelalu): About half of the agricultural land in the village has red soil. This soil is not fertile and lacks mineral nutrients for growing crops. Due to the high sand content in the soil, the water holding capacity of the soil is less.
Black soil: There are two types of black soil found in the village- shallow black soil (nalla) and deep black soil (regadi).
Shallow black soil (Nalla): This type of soil depth is about 6 cm. The water holding capacity of this type of soil is high and it becomes hard when dry and sticky when wet.
Deep black soil (regadi): It is extremely fertile and most productive.
Choudu and Garusu: These two types of soil constitute about 30% of the land area of the village. Mostly, these soils are uncultivable and mostly with pebbles.
