Dear student
In his book "Theme of Two Treatises of Government " John Locke refutes doctrine of divine rights of the king which declares the king or the monarch as the representative of God on earth and has the derived his authority from the God to rule on his subjects. Locke rejected such a doctrine and argued that government so formed must be based on the consent of the people. In his book, he argues that individuals enjoy certain natural rights which are endowed in an individual by law of nature.
