Swadeshi movement was started with partition of Bengal by the viceroy of India, LORD CURZON. It was started in 1905 and continued up to 1911. It was one of the most successful movement of Gandhi. Main leaders of swadeshi movement were Aurbindo Ghosh, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra pal and Lala lajpat Rai. Main aim of this movement was to get the self rule or swaraj. Under this movement people boycott the British products and started using the products made in India only. Tricolour was designed during swadeshi movement by SISTER NIVEDITA (a hindu reformist).
