Number of qualified candidates from state P over the years
= (35 + 20 + 25 + 45 + 40 + 85) thousand
= 250 thousand
Total number of qualified candidates in 2006
= (25 + 55 + 60) thousand
= 140 thousand
Required difference = (250 - 140) thousand
= 110 thousand = 1.10 lacs.
