We see rise of revolutionary groups from 1830-1848 in Europe:
a. The years after 1815, witnessed the wave of liberal nationalism had swayed many parts of Europe.
b. The ideas of constitutionalism, rule of law, nation state had become popular.
c. A large number of secret societies were formed like that of like Young Italy in Marseilles and Young Europe in Berne to engage youth in the revolutionary activities.
d. Their members included all liberal nationalists who wanted change and challenged the traditional institutions of monarchy and church.
e. It included members who were like minded and shared similar objectives, aims and aspirations.
f. The main idea behind their formation was to propagate the idea of liberal nationalism which emphasised on the government based on consent. Government where constitution is supreme and is based on the free will of the people as reflected in the French revolution. It meant end of autocracy and clerical privileges.
g. The revolutionary groups often planned revolts and uprisings, published pamphlets creating awareness among the people and to generate support.
