What was the reason behind the Dandi March?

Open in App
Solution

Reasons for the Dandi March were:
  1. The Britishers had made a law that did not allow Indian people to make or sell salt by themselves.
  2. Instead Indians were required to buy salt from the Britishers. They had put a heavy tax on salt.
  3. To fight against this law, Gandhiji started the Dandi March in which he made salt from seawater, thereby breaking the salt law.
