What Was The Rowlatt Act Of 1919
The Rowlatt Act of 1919 act authorized the Government to imprison any person without trial & convict him in court. However, many Indian leaders were highly critical of the Act and argued that not everyone should be punished in response to isolated political crimes.
This Act was passed in March 1919 and the purpose of bringing this Act into effect was to abolish revolt and remove any conspiracy theories against the British from India.
