The main cause which led to tension between the Dutch-speaking and French-speaking people was the economic equality.
In Belgium, the Dutch-speaking people were in majority and the French-speaking people were in minority.
The French-speaking people were rich and more powerful whereas the Dutch-Speaking population was poor and weak.
Also, the tensions caused were result of the minority population of Dutch-speaking people in the Capital and majority in the Country.
