What were the main causes and significance of Bastar rebellion ?

Reasons of Bastar Rebellion:
1. Forest act established by Colonial government was the main reason of the rebellion. The act reserved two third of the forest previously owned by the native villager of Bastar.
2. Shifting cultivation was banned which caused a significant degrade in their economic status.
3. The people were forced to work for free in cutting woods and protecting the forests from fire.
4. Most of the lands were reserved by the government forcibly and land rent was increased.

​​​​​​these all reasons forced the Bastar population to fight for their right.
Significance/result:
1. The process for reservation of the forest property was delayed
2. There was a reduction of reserved land that that of estimated.
3. Many officials lost their property to the Bastar rebels.
