The Lucknow Pact was signed betweeen the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Muslim League in 1916 CE. It laid down several guidelines to challenge the autocracy of the British government. Some of the important ones included greater representation of Indians in the Governor General's Executive Council. It also declared that there would be no interference from the Government of India into the internal affairs of the provinces. The Pact also wanted full control of the Provincial Legislative Council over the Provincial Government.
