Brahmo Samaj was founded by Raja Ram Mohan Roy on August 20, 1828. It was one of the most pivotal religious reforms in India which proved to be quite influential by its sheer objectives.

The objectives are mentioned below :
1) To abolish Sati.
2) To eradicate polygamy.
3) To educate women and give right to inherit property.
4) To perform inter-caste marriage and widow remarriage.
