India framed the Panchsheel Policy to determine peace with the adjoining countries. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru tried to base India’s foreign policy on Gandhian principles and non-violence and formed the Policy.
India formed the Panchsheel policy of non-interference in each other’s internal affairs with its immediate neighbours.
The principles are:
Peaceful Coexistence
Non-Aggression
Non - interference in internal matters
Equality and cooperation for the protection of mutual interests.
Respect for each other’s territorial integrity and Sovereignty.
