Solution:
Ranjit Singh between the period 1807 and 1808 led multiple attacks across the river Satluj.
The Britishers signed the treaty of Amritsar as per which, the territories south of the Satluj river were the British territories. The British also acquired the territory of Malwa with this treaty which developed a sense of distrust between Ranjit Singh and the Britishers.
The Britishers also stationed their forces at Ludhiana and Ranjit Singh stationed his army at Phillaur which worsened the conditions and severed the cordial relations.
