The given information can be depicted as follows,

The formula to calculate the area of segment is given as,

Area of segment=Area of sectorArea of triangleAOB

The area of the sector whose arc subtends an angle of 90 with radius 6 cm is obtained as,

Area of sector=θ360π(r2)=90360π(62)=14π(36)=9π

Now, the area of triangle AOB with base and height equal to 6 cm is calculated as,

Area of triangle AOB=12×b×h=12×6×6=18

Thus, the area of the segment is,
