In pea plants, the pod colour is either green or yellow.
Green pod colour is dominant over yellow pod colour.
Let the allele for green colour be ‘G’ and for yellow colour be ‘g’.

When a plant with green colour pods is crossed with a plant with yellow colour pods, then there are two possibilities.

Possibility 1:
If the parent producing green colour pods is homozygous dominant (GG), then all the progeny will produce pods of green colour.

Possibility 2:
If the parent producing green colour pods is heterozygous dominant (Gg), then the offspring producing green and yellow pods will be obtained in the ratio of 1 : 1
