We know that degree of an expression is the highest degree among all the degrees of its terms.
Given algebraic expression contains four terms(1, 4x2y, xyz and x2yz).
So,
First begin with the degree of 1,
1 can be written as 1x0. So its degree will be 0.

Degree of 4x2y=2+1=3
Degree of 4xyz=1+1+1=3
Degree of 4x2yz=2+1+1=4

As we can see, 4 is highest among all the degrees of its terms so 4 will the degree of 1+4x2y+xyz+x2yz.
