Question

What will be the path of a charged particle moving along the direction of a uniform magnetic field?

Open in App
Solution

When a charge passes through a magnetic field, it experiences a force called Lorentz Force
=qVBsinθ
When the charge particle moves along the direction of a uniform magnetic fieldθ=0° or 180°
F=qVB(0)=0
Thus the charged particle would continue to move along the line of magnetic field.i.e, straight path.
