What will be the sign of the product if we multiply: $5$ negative integers and $1$ positive integer?

We have : $5$ negative integers and $1$ positive integer.

Multiplication of $5$ negative numbers is a negative number because $5$ is odd.

Example:- Take any different or same $5$ negative numbers say $-2,-3,-6,-1$ and $-2$.

Now product of these numbers is,

$=-2\times -3\times -6\times -1\times -2$

$=-72$ Negative integer

So, multiplication of $5$ negative integers is a negative number.

Also multiplication of that $5$ negative integers with $1$ positive integer $($say, $2)$ is,

$=-72\times 2$

$=-144$ Negative integer

Since, multiplication of a positive integer and a negative integer is negative.

Therefore, the sign of $5$ negative integers and $1$ positive integer is negative.
