The plant which is kept near the window of the classroom will turn towards the direction of the sunlight. This process is known as phototropism. There are different type of movements shown by the plants. The process of phototropism allows the movement of the cells of the plant in the side or the direction from where the sunlight is entering. The plant requires the light for performing photosynthesis.
