What will happen if in Young's double slit experiment the main source isn't equidistant from S1 and S2?

If the main source is not equidistant from both the slits, there will be a phase difference between the light reaching at the two slits. So, we need to incorporate this extra path difference while calculating where we will get bright or dark fringes.
