Question

what will happen if stomata of a plant becomes non functional

Open in App
Solution

Stomata performs the function of exchange of gases and transpiration. The gases are important for photosynthesis and respiration while the transpiration is essential for absorption of water. If stomata becomes non functional, plant will not be able to exchange gases needed for photosynthesis and respiration. Also transpiration will stop and will affect the absorption of water. Thus, plant will not be able to survive and will die.
