Question

What will happen if the limiting friction is more than the applied force?

Open in App
Solution

If the limiting friction is more than the applied force, the body will not move relative to the surface. Frictional force will be equal in magnitude to the applied force. When the value of force exceeds the value of limiting friction, the body will start sliding and now the friction will be sliding friction and its value will be less than the limiting friction.
