Question

what will happen if the magnetic field in MCG is not radial

Open in App
Solution

dear student,
The radial magnetic field is applied for two reasons.
First, to get the linear relationship between the current and deflection angle.
Second, to pass maximum flux through the coil to produce maximum torque.

If the radial field is not applied then the relationship between angle and current will be non-linear and current cannot be measured conveniently.
Also, torque will not uniform and linear.

thanks and regards...
