Solution

The correct option is A It will move in a straight line rather that revolving around the earth
The moon is attracted towards the earth due to the gravitational force exerted by the earth on the moon. However, moon revolves around the earth in a circular motion because of the centripetal force acting of on it. In absence of centripetal force, the moon will not be able to follow a circular path and would move in a straight line tangential to the orbit of the moon.
