Solution

Transpiration in plants:

  1. Loss of water through the aerial parts of plant is known as transpiration.
  2. The rate of transpiration in plants depend on the factors like increased temperature, water supply, sunlight intensity.
  3. Transpiration brings down the temperature of leaves.
  4. Transpiration maintains water balance in plants.

If there is no transpiration in plants:

  1. If a plant does not transpire water, then there is a chance that the plant may die because of more accumulation of water in the plant body.
  2. If there is no transpiration, no water will move up the plant via transpiration pull.
  3. The leaves wont get water and the process of photosynthesis will not occur and the plant will eventually die.
