Let the breadth of rectangle be $b$.
We know that,
Area of rectangle = Length x Breadth
= $l\times b$...(1)
Length is tripled and breadth is made one-third
New length = $3l$
New breadth = $\frac{b}{3}$
New area of rectangle = (New length) x (New breadth)
= $3l\times \frac{b}{3}$
= $l\times b$...(2)
From (1) and (2), it can be concluded that-
Area of rectangle remains same.
