The correct option is C Area remains same.
Let the length of rectangle be l.
Let the breadth of rectangle be b.
We know that,
Area of rectangle = Length x Breadth
= l×b...(1)
Length is tripled and breadth is made one-third
New length = 3l
New breadth = b3
New area of rectangle = (New length) x (New breadth)
= 3l×b3
= l×b...(2)
From (1) and (2), it can be concluded that-
Area of rectangle remains same.
