What will happen to the ecosystem if the elements is removed from the ecosystem

The ecosystem is a living system consists of both living and non living components which interact between themselves. The living components include animals, plants , insects etc and non living things include soil, water, air, minerals. If any of the element like minerals, air is removed from it the ecosystem will be able to sustain as these are required by living things for living.
