Question

What would be the number of chromosome in the spermatids?

Open in App
Solution

A spermatid is an immature male sex cell. It is formed
through meiosis, a form of reductive cell division and therefore contains a
haploid number of chromosomes. The actual number of chromosomes depends on the
species of the parent organism. In humans, each spermatid will contain 23
chromosomes, (a normal somatic cell is diploid and contains 46 chromosomes).
