Question

what would happen if mitochondria are present in RBCs?

Open in App
Solution

Mitochondria is known as the power house of the cell as it produces large amount of energy in the form of ATP. As RBCs carry oxygen, so if they contain mitochondria the cell will use oxygen for its own respiration (occurs in mitochondria) thus decreasing the amount of oxygen transported to different parts of the body. So they respire anaerobically.
