Solution
Ozone layer
The ozone layer sits in the stratosphere between 15 km and 30 km above the earth and shields us and other living things from the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Ozone is formed in the upper atmosphere (in the stratosphere which is one of the layers of the atmosphere) by the action of ultraviolet radiations from the sun.
Effects of Ozone Layer Depletion
Thinning of the ozone layer has already started showing adverse effects on life on the earth and on man.
More mutations in plants and animals lead to sterility, low production rate and low viability
.Decline in photosynthesis up to 20%
Increase in CO, concentration in the atmosphere due to reduced photosynthesis. This will lead to global warming.
In human beings increased UV radiation will increase incidences of skin cancer, affect the immune system cause increase in the diseases, affect the eyesight, photo burning and increase in the cases of cataracts.
In case ozone layer is destroyed completely, UV radiation from the sun would reach to the earth and life will come to an end.
