What would happen if we apply force on a matalic ball?will it change its shape?

It depends on the applied force.if the force or stress is within the elastic limit ,if we remove the force body regain its initial shape.But the force within the plastic limit it change shape .it depends shape of the body,matherialbof the body , magnitude of applied force.inthe case of metal it is plastic .so it can not regain its initial state by withdrawal of the force.so larger magnitude çompressive ,expansive,shear force may cause change in shape
