What would happen if you cool a saturated solution?
supersaturated solution
As the temperature of the solution is increased, hot water can dissolve more solid substance than cold water. This is because heated water molecules move farther apart, making room for the more solid substance to dissolve. When no more of the solid substance can be dissolved, the solution is said to be saturated.
When a saturated solution prepared at a higher temperature is cooled it becomes the supersaturated solution. A supersaturated solution contains more solute at a given temperature than is needed to form a saturated solution.
