The correct option is B It increases in size.
When we heat the plate, all the constituent molecules vibrate more. The molecules of the plate at the rim of the hole also vibrate. Now if the hole shrinks, the molecules at the rim will come closer to each other, which is not possible as they are vibrating more. So the molecules must move apart i.e. the hole would expand.
