Thymus gland is located in the chest behind the sternum in between the lungs and are the primary lymphoid organs. The T cells undergo maturation in the thymus.
Effect of removal of thymus:
Removal of the thymus gland will cause the following:-
∙ T cells maturation will not happen ∙ Cell-mediated immunity will decrease ∙ People will be more susceptible to infections
