Solution
Ethyne is an unsaturated hydrocarbon and is an organic compound.
When Ethyne is bubbled through a solution of bromine in Carbon tetrachloride we get Acetylene dibromide or Ethylene Bromide as the product.
Due to the formation of Ethylene Bromide (Colourless) the orange-brown colour of Bromine disappears.
The chemical reaction occurs as follows:
Hence, we concluded that when Ethyne is bubbled through a solution of bromine in Carbon tetrachloride then due to the formation of Ethylene Bromide the orange-brown colour of Bromine disappears.
